The State of Kentucky has given local Conservation Districts the governmental responsibility and the leadership for planning and providing programs which will both conserve and develop the renewable natural resources within their boundaries.

This legislation leaves little doubt as to the commitment expected in properly managing the Commonwealth’s soil, water, forest and wildlife resources.  Considered equally important is maintaining the health, safety and welfare of citizens, while protecting the value of the tax base.
