Logan County was approved for 20 out of 34 applications for Kentucky State Cost Share.  Landowners have until June 30, 2008 to complete their conservation projects.

 

We look forward to serving you!  If you are interested in applying next year, sign-up will be held in February.

If you have not yet completed your Water Quality Plan contact Wesley Wright at 270-726-1371.  If you have made any changes in your farm operation, please come by the Conservation District Office to update your Water Quality Plan.

Conservation Districts striving to help wildlife

 

The Conservation

Districts will be giving away blue bird boxes beginning in March 2008.  Listen to WRUS in the mornings and Don Neagle will let you know when to stop by the District Office.  First Come, First Served.

 

The Conservation Districts will again be celebrating Arbor Day in April 2008, by giving away over 4,000 tree seedlings to the public first come, first served.  This will also be announced on WRUS Radio Station.

CURRENT WEATHER

 

Check out  the first official weather station

at the Baker Natural Area in Russellville.  The Kentucky Mesonet is a high density, mesoscale network of automated environmental monitoring stations currently being developed across the commonwealth.

 

 Funding for the Mesonet was secured by U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell through an earmark to the Kentucky Climate Center at Western Kentucky University.
