Conservation Writing & Jim Claypool Art Contest

New changes in the Conservation Writing & Jim Claypool Art Contest from last year, no paper brochures, (saving the trees).  A copy of the information is available at the Conservation District Office or on the following website:  conservation.ky.gov.  These changes are to help better our environment!  Remember this is the 62nd year for the Conservation Writing and Jim Claypool Art Contest.

This year’s theme is WATER!  “Ever Drop Counts”.  The Art Contest is for students in grades one through five.  (Students in lower grades may enter the writing contest if they wish.)  The Writing Contest is designed for students in grades six through 12.  However, a student cannot enter both contests during the same school year.

By participating in the writing and art contests we hope this will make a difference in the environment and our natural resources through good conservation practices.

The three top art & writing entries from your school has to be submitted to the Conservation District Office by December 1st.

To participate in the county competition only we will accept three sizes for the Conservation Art Contest 9x12, 11x14 or 22x28.  If you want to have a chance of going to regional and state competition then it has to be 9x12.

If you would like someone from the Conservation District Office to provide a program for your class on this year’s subject, please let us know.  If you have any questions, please contact Dianna Penrod.  Our telephone number is 726-1371 or 726-2618 Ext 2 and our office hours are 7:30 a.m.—4:30 p.m.
